Who plays 2C in Calgary?

Either shift lindholm or target a FA. Could see Haula or Hoffman in CGY.

Lindholm I would guess and sign a winger. Or sign a 2C. Makes things a little weird with the top 6 (unless Dube steps up into 2RW next year and Mangiapane moves up to 1RW) but there's so much value there I'm not sure if Calgary could refuse. The value is worth the headaches to get a decent young goalie that probably isn't super expensive and a stud young RHD to round out the top 4 long term (Valimaki-Andersson Hanifin-ADA).

As for the rest of the ACGM, seems like decent value for the other teams you're trading with. Kylington makes more than 800k though. I could see this potentially happening if NYR decided to be this aggressive and go for it next year.

With the way Talbot has been playing and him openly saying he wants to resign I dont know if the value is entirely there. Backlund is consistently a top 10 player in Selke voting. Don't get me wrong though the value is worth considering but not an instant sell.

We'd have to price out Talbot, if he signs for a steal and a bit of term to platoon with Geo until he's ready to be a starter, maybe you take the deal and trade Rittich. I love Big Save Dave but he wasn't great this year, lost the starting role in the playoffs two years in a row to two different guys, and is 4 years older. I like Backlund too, but he's already 31, and that top 4 I mentioned is all under 25. That's a defense core that'll last you for a decade, and it's really hard for me to ignore lol

I don't see any reason for Avs to include a 5th rounder in that trade. I'd be inclined to accept NYR 2021 2nd + Lias though, but if another team offered a 2020 2nd + 3rd I'd probably lean towards that instead. Lias only has 1 more year of waiver exemption and has really struggled in the NHL thus far.

Just out of curiosity, would Rangers accept Zadorov for 2021 NYR 2nd + Barron?
