Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

This is the team that I would absolutely love to see. I love Connor Brown, he’s a lot like Hyman, was very effective on the penalty kill, and I feel like he’d be a more effective option on this team than Mango.

Couldn’t bring back Gauthier (love him, has an underrated shot) Clifford and Mikheyev, but if there’s a way to bring all of them back and still stay under the cap, *without trading any of the big money players* let me know.

Lehtonen is in the scratched section, although I feel like him, Sandin and Liljegren are interchangeable. I know Keefe doesn’t like going with 7 defencemen, so I’d see them rotating who’s scratched unless someone gets injured (kinda like how Matthews and Marner rotated getting the “A”).

So this trade has a couple hiccups, but it is possible.

First problem is that Brown > Johnsson.

Second problem is that Brown will not sign 1 x 2.5

So TOR would need to compensate OTT for the upgrade, and compensate OTT for retaining ~1.5-2M per year on his contract

[Johnson + 2021 TOR 1st (top 15 protected a la Pittsburg's Zucker trade)] for [CBrown 3x4M @ 50% retained + SJ 2021 2nd]

Toronto gets better, and cheaper, at the cost of downgrading a late 1st to a 2nd in a less deep draft

I like this idea for a trade.

I really didn’t pay much attention to the brown contract when signing him, I just wanted to show that he was on the team and where I would put him.

I think the leafs can get away with less retained if Prittam worked his magic (too complicated for me to make sense of it right now), maybe making that pick an unconditional second in the process and then keeping the first for a deadline deal if some sort
