They should keep Rakell and pull a line of Rakell-Nylander-Silfverberg assuming they draft Drysdale. So how about Manson and Comtois for Nylander? Saves cap for Toronto and get 2 players to put in their lineup

You guys give up more for the 1st 2 years imo but then you get Nylander and Holl for basically free in the last 2 years.

I think it's good for you guys if you are planning to rebuild for the next 2 years.

Manson (with retention), Comtois and BOS 1st would probably fit both teams more

Comtois isn't good enough for 2nd line minutes.



Not sure how good Comtois is but Rackell helps us more in the short term. Might do it if they added their 2nd from this year.

I think he is but also you wont need him for that role this soon. Id say he plays 3LW, Robertson plays 2LW and Kapanen+Johnsson are gone and you have Mikheyev on right of 3rd line and *insert my fave Josh Anderson here* on second line

That makes no sense. Nylander is a 70 point player and after 2 years we are left with nothing.

Bad trade for the ducks. As I mention on the previous thread, ducks don’t need Nylander unless it’s at a discount because Toronto is facing too much pressure.

Really think about it, Toronto has
-Cap issues
-Weak defence
-Players not playing up to their contracts
-Not won a play off series for over 15 years

They need to change not the ducks. Ducks are at least 2-3 years away from being a serious playoff team. So they need to build from draft picks and young assets. They don’t need now players. Also I feel rakell is worth Nylander alone, if not more. Better player defensively and has shown he can score 30 goals too. Any trade of a veteran player has to bring back a first and prospect imo, kinda like the montour and Kase trades.

Nylander = 59 points and 4 years before UFA

Rackell is 27
Nylander is 24

But somehow Rackell is worth more... please...

The Kase trade go a 1st cause they made a 4.5M cap dump and the Montou trade was a big loss by Buffalo that I'm sure 99% of them would take back give the option.

You make it sound like Nylander drives his lines. The points are just the effect of playing with Mathews or Tavares. Points are inflated. Putting Nylander in a rebuild is pointless, plus his numbers will decrease. Also rakell is not a one dimensional player, brings more to the table being an excellent 2way player with a scoring touch. Your point on age I personally don’t mind, I don’t mind having a few veterans or players on their prime. Not to mention he’s on a very good contract. I’m sorry but silly willy is not worth the 7 million toronto gave him. That’s got bad contract written all over it. Also it is pretty suspect how Toronto fans claim he’s so amazing but he is always the first player to go on mock trades.

Agree with the montour take, overpayment, but the Kase one there was salary retention so it wasn’t a big deal seeing how it expires next season. I just feel that’s the price for a player on their prime (1st and good prospect). Don’t feel Anaheim is competing any time soon so why trade 1sts away. Strong opinions and I do appreciate your take. I get that, but two years prior rakell was netting 30 goals a year. Then getzlaf productivity decreased. See where I’m going with this. Nylander and rakell points depend on a good centre.

Look Nylander is better, how much better is debatable, but if you can't even admit Nylander is better than Rakell I think I'll be very unproductive to discuss this any more.

Plus Nylander has 2 more years of term and is 3 years younger.

Anaheim won't be competitors in the next 2 years but they probably will be within the next 4 years.

Unless Rackell puts up 60+ points again his value will remain lower.
