A bit of a roster change for Tampa next year in this version. Tampa can figure out the bottom 6 depending on who looks best to start next year, with guys like True, Barre-Boulet and possibly Raddysh getting a chance. On defense, Serg can either stay at 3LD and play with either Foote or Rutta/Bogosian(whomever Tampa decides to keep), or.he can move back to the right and play with Hedman or McD.

We'll take Cernak's rights and next year's first for Rakell and the retention. We're not interested in taking Tyler Johnson off your hands or trading away the 67th overall pick in this draft.

Johnson's no replacement for Rakell and we don't trade away 2020 picks without the right compensation.

Johnson is most certainly a comparable replacement for Rakell. Rakell is a .63 ppg player and Johnson is a .61 ppg for their career. Granted Johnson saw a dip this year due to loss of minutes, but he's a very capable top 6 w/c on many teams.

Tyler Johnson is precisely the sort of player a rebuilding team should NOT acquire: Thirty years old, four more years on his contract at a $5 million per cap hit and $17.75 million in actual cash, and playing a position where the youngsters need playing time. It's a dreadful idea for the Ducks, and the only reason it's being suggested is that it alleviates Tampa's cap problem. As I said earlier, Anaheim would be interested in Rakell for Cernak and next year's first, but other than that, we should decline.

Good trades. The biggest problem with a lot of these trades for guys with NTC.NMC is theyre always to awful places, but I could totally see that NYJ trade happening, and the Anaheim.
Only thing I'd say is Sergy contract seems a little low, and I know you did that bc of the cap, but otherwise 9/10

Thanks, and yes there is certainly a chance Johnson may not waive for Anaheim or Killorn for SJ. However, for the sake of this agm, I had them agreeing. If TJ won't waive for Anaheim then Tampa and him can probably work out a trade elsewhere for a pick or prospect. I don't think Serg is that off on a bridge given what his closest comparables took on their bridges. McAvoy took 4.9 and Werenski 5, so Serg at 4.5, given the usual discount most in Tampa take, didnt seem unreasonable. If Tampa had to bump him up a little higher, they could go to 4.75 but I don't see Serg getting much more on a bridge.

If either Anaheim didn't want him or he wouldn't waive for there, fine, Tampa can trade him elsewhere. If Anaheim has young guys ready to go, so be it, but Johnson is a 50 point guy that can either be an effective 2nd line center or winger. Even if Anaheim wanted to move him after next year or expose him in the expansion draft, if wouldn't be difficult. His m-ntc kicks in after next year so between 20 teams and Seattle, no doubt Anaheim woild.find a taker for a player of his caliber. He's worth at least a 3rd round pick and probably a bit more, but again, if he's not a fit for Anaheim then no problem.
