Everyone wants to do crazy trades and completely change the roster... I think the Rangers are on a great trajectory from within. Really the only thing they need is a clear cut second line center. The blue line is going to be fine in a few years with no changes needed. I'm a little more patient, and see next year as another fringe playoff team, but 21-22 as being serious contenders.

I'm going to go bold here and kick Ryan Strome out. While I do think that he deserves a shot to repeat his success from this year, it seems the organization is wanting Chytil to take the reigns. If not, perhaps Barron or Khodorenko could grow into it. With the wingers we will have this upcoming year, now is the perfect time to test Chytil... and it's his contract year. It's time to prove it, buddy! If he doesn't, we will have the cap space in 21-22 to get a second line center.

With Tony D's huge (and deserved) pay day, I would want to see him move over to the left side as he did in his younger days. This is a future move, to make room for Lundkvist on the right side next year.

As far as actual lines, I envision Barron/Howden/Khodorenko will swap places several times during the season.

As far as the trade, it can be Brendan Smith or Marc Staal. I'd rather keep Smith personally due to his utility, but not a big preference. It doesn't have any cap implications either way.
