Bjugstad only has one year left. So rather than trading him right away, why not try him at RW where he was at his best in Florida? Then trade him during the season if necessary. When his contract is gone, his money can go towards Marino and McCann in the future. Fills the need for a top 6 RW next year and can be replaced by a prospect in the following season.

Long, term, the plan would be to try to get Seattle to take Hornqvist.

DeMelo makes some sense. He's actually pretty decent but teams don't seem to have recognized it yet. It only cost a third round pick to get him near the deadline. Penguins prospect pool has a big hole at RD so it makes sense to bring in someone from outside to replace Schultz, who absolutely should not be re-signed.
