Posted August after the game 1 loss to Chicago, I wrote this in the Team Explanation: "Okay, not realistic. I'm just riffing off the black mood that suddenly exists in Oilersville - up until Saturday noon Oilers fans were picking 31st overall in the draft, since then they're all picking 1st. Surely THIS team can make the playoffs?!"

So I've adjusted a few things based on feedback, as follows:

1. Upped the ante for both Faksa and Georgiev and increased Faksa's salary
2. Reduced the retention for Neal
3. Added the Klefbom trade from this thread, adjusted for feedback: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/347405
4. Added a couple of veteran D for league minimum to cover for Lagesson and Bouchard. Greene could be Sekera, Engelland could be Polak or Mike Green... I just grabbed a couple of guys

DAL declines. Not trade Faksa in a quantity for quality deal. Give us a 2nd and 3rd and we'll do with that just fine.

Also that Hall contract is extremely wishful thinking in my opinion.

Looks like charelli is back in charge oilers loose just about every one of these trades.
Jersey trade is horrible not retaining and giving up a good prospect for a 4th rounder. Not even sure where to begin with that. Russell was the BEST defender during qualifier probably not wise to throw away. Chiasson didn’t capitalize on much but looked like one of the most dangerous 5-5 players during qualifier. I doubt Dallas does that but most logical move of them all by far. Klef for domi has to be a joke

I wouldn’t say every single player. Neal JJ Chaisson looked fairly good keeping in mind limited minutes. Russell overall had a decent series few bad bounces but his play and effort was solid. Most of them looked like preseason form. Tough part for Edmonton is the “cap dumps” were the better players outside of mcdavid of course.
