Big three team trade if the Jackets win the lottery

Créé par: Jacketsman61
Équipe: 2020-21 Blue Jackets de Columbus
Date de création initiale: 7 août 2020
Publié: 8 août 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
I think this trade would work for all teams involved. It solves a lot of issues and allows all three team flexibility. Foligno is really to make the money work but Buffalo could use his leadership ability. So it breaks down like this:

Detroit gets:
Werenski
Joonas Korpisalo
Casey Mittelstadt
2020 2nd round pick (Chi)

Buffalo gets:
Tyler Bertuzzi
Joseph Veleno
Jared McIsaac
Nick Foligno
1OA
4OA
2021 2nd round pick (Det)

Columbus gets:
Jack Eichel
Dennis Cholowski
Chase Pearson
2020 1st round pick (Buf)

Any tweaks? I would like to hear some Buffalo and Detroit fans thoughts?

Because they aren't trading their franchise center

We will have too many left wingers and terrible center depth if we trade Eichel to Columbus or Detroit, then it will PLD+ or Larkin+.

They'd be pushing their in-process rebuild back another 3+ years. I don't mind big splash trade ideas, but I can't see Buffalo justifying a pretty big step back in their rebuild.

Here’s the issue, Eichel is not happy in Buffalo. At the rate they are heading, Buffalo is at least 3 yrs from being a real contender. Eichel wants to win a cup and is wasting some of his best years in Buffalo. Not sure Buffalo would want that type of negativity.

Krueger has said he understands his frustrations. They were 4 points out of the wild card at the TDL and lost 5 out of the last 7 games by one goal. The owners have already said they aren’t rebuilding. Plus if they were to trade Eichel which won’t happen for another 2+ years they will need a center that can make an impact right away.

He's under contract for the next six years at about 12% of the cap. I f that were true he wouldn't have signed the contract he did.

oh and Detroit declines...way too much to give up.

Detroit declines this pretty easily. I’d love to have Werenski If he cost some like 4OA but when you add Bertuzzi, Veleno, McIsaac, and second rounders which are then flipped for Eichel I really scratch my head. You either over value Werenski or undervalue Eichel.

First I’m not a Sabre’s fan, but arguably if BUF can get Skinner back to being a 30G scorer and something resembling average goal tending they can press for a playoff spot. Eichel is an elite 1C under contract for 6 more years. If they were crazy enough to trade him they are going to need a haul including at the very least a legit 1C prospect and multiple 1st rd picks (not late ones either) to even consider it.

First off, unless it is a straight center for center trade with similar values, Buffalo will be getting a player less than Eichel’s value. Second, that division is going to really difficult to navigate in a couple of years when Ottawa starts seeing returns on their trades and teams like Florida and Detroit are getting better. Plus, there will always be TB, Bos, Tor, and Mon that are not going anywhere.

Columbus should stay out of this. Sorry, Eichel is great but he’s not worth Laf and Werenski to get. Just keep 1st OA. Laf played center for half the year in the QMJHL.

That’s my point they don’t have to trade a 90 point 23 year old center with 6 years left.

Not disagreeing with you but more or less being creative with getting Eichel and Dubois as 1C/2C.

Not arguing with you. You do make a point but this Eichel situation has all the makings of the Nash Situation years back for the Jackets. It’s difficult to build a winning team when the captain is unhappy. If Buffalo starts out next year slow then it could get ugly in Buffalo. The optics wouldn’t look good. Not saying this trade itself would happen but realistically trading Eichel would result in a lot more prospects and futures than young NHL proven players because for the team acquiring Eichel would not want to dismantle their team either

Than you aren’t getting Eichel.. you have to pay to get a top 5 center back. Hypothetically Buffalo would want back.
    Top 6 center
    Top 6 winger
    And some more draft capital
And promising prospects. Obviously teams would want to give up their future for that which means an Eichel trade isn’t happening for a while.

Not really an option after the Management Shuffles done to keep Eichel from lashing out in the Media again Eichel's back where he was golfing during the playoffs.

He was Vocal about being done with missing the playoffs after 5 years pro and 0 appearances.
If you keep screwing him around his 2017 lash out will be back in full swing as he's already made statements this summer saying he's getting irritated with BUF

He's not the only one as Dominik Hasek showed , you have to leave to win
BUF always has been and always will be a losing team because they have bad ownership that cares more about seats being filled and jerseys sold then winning cups .(they've always been this way as its a Culture they've created )

    Eichel Will Leave BUF

BUF will get overpayed on the deal for sure but he's still leaving .
IF you guys have a clue you'll move him before he becomes an O'reilly and get a Duchene level return .
Waiting until the player is really pissed off is never a good idea and Eichel is the angriest man in the league right now as you're wasting his skill and potential legacy

The whole concept of your trade is heavily favored towards the Blue Jackets.

Wings give up Bertuzzi, Veleno, Mcissacs, Cholowski and 2020 1st which is 4 OA for Werenzki, Korpisalo, Middlestedt and a 2nd. That is way overpayment. Werenski is a a very good defense man, but Korpidalo is a your backup.goalie and and no interest in Middlestadt. I want Veleno of over him.

This is not a problem of its cost, he has a six-year contract and he is an elite 1C which is 23 years old, the price will be very high, even if Eichel himself asks for a trade. We will definitely have to return 1-2 centers in the deal. From Columbus it will be PLD+ from Detroit Larkin+, it's simple.
