I like that trade idea.

WPG gets the best player, but EDM gets a pair of quality forwards that are also very cheap.

I don't get all the people that think WPG should trade their best defensive forward for ANOTHER OFD, when actually playing defense was the biggest issues on the team

I was just thinking this, copp is criminally underrated. We need to improve defensively, not add another OFD like you said and remove our best defensive forwards.

If wpg was in a position where we could afford to lose Copp, this would be a really really good deal.

Didn't know people considered Nurse an offensive Dman, he is more of an all round D. He was top 10 in league for blocked shots and hits by dmen.

I don’t mind idea of trading nurse but not jp. Want to see what have in him before sending him away. I don’t think his first stint is a fair evaluation.

Copp is overrated imo, adding a big physical top 4 dman who can move the puck and JP for this package would be a steal, Copp and Roslovic are easy to replace.

big and physical != good defensively, Copp is probably the better defensive player (value wise it's still a W for the jets, but doesn't fill a need at all)

No from Winnipeg. The Jets have no need for JP and Nurse is only under contract for 2 more years and overpaid for a low end second pairing guy.

I think it will depend on how ready Samberg and Heinola are. A vet LHD for a year or two would probably be good. Nothing spectacular, just a steady defensive defenseman.

The Oilers wouldn't make this trade anyway, it'd be a steal for the Jets, Nurse would be a great D partner for little Pionk, Nurse is big, mean and mobile.

You seen to like a few defenseman I don't. I have no interest in Nurse. He's Bogo 2.0, all tools, no toolbox. Only under contract for two more years. Hopefully he stays long term in Edmonton.

I couldn't stand Bogo, hurt all the time when you wondered if he was actually hurt and so often he looked like he wasn't putting much effort in, if we break down that trade as in a Bogo/Myers swap the Jets won that part of the deal by a landslide, Myers while not perfect was miles better then Bustgosian was.

I'm not like a huge Nurse fan but he's pretty solid, would be a massive upgrade over pretty much anything the Jets have, I do hate his contract though I agree with you there but if I look at this trade it's still a big win even with him only being signed for two years.
Can't see Edmonton making this trade though.
