Should Jarry Play

Description
Obviously, the Pens should not be losing to the Habs. Mike Sullivan will probably look for a change.

One of PIT’s blaring downfalls was the third line, but I’m not a Pens fan, so I can’t create accurate lines for them

One of the other options that I’ve heard is Matt Murray being replaced by Tristan Jarry, who hasn’t not played since March.

Thoughts?

not a Pens fan either but Murray seems to be playing fine

Obviously his last game wasn't the best but he was lights out game 2 and very solid game 1

On the brink of elimination, it doesn't make sense imo to switch things up like this, especially with a goalie like Murray who has previously been really good in the playoffs

It might make sense if you are clearly a Cup contender and are facing elimination. Murray has lost to the Habs twice, Jarry has not.

I do agree that Murray has played excellent in the first two games of the series. However, aforementioned, the Pens are in two elimination games if they make it out of their first one and need to make changes. Jarry is more consistent and the Pens have not played well enough to take the brunt of the game off the goalies. If Murray gives up a bad goal or two, then he will continue doing so (look at game 3). Jarry can hold them together and make the big saves all the time even when under pressure the entire game. The third line in game 3 was god awful and the problem is glaring everyone in the eye. Marleau has not been good for the Penguins since the acquisition and should no longer warrant a spot in the lineup. The Pens have a huge x-factor in their prospect Samuel Poulin and also have others like Lafferty that typically sit on the bench. The other major problem (has been all year), is Jack Johnson. He has not been good for years and has been awful since we got him. The problem is Sullivan is a very hot and cold coach. Meaning, if he likes you, he will play you no matter what and if he doesn't like you, there will be problems. People say that Kessel is in a decline (he is) and that there was nothing he could do for the Pens anymore. I disagree and it is obvious from a follower's perspective that Sullivan did not like Kessel's laid back mentality to the game and he wedged him and Malkin apart. Malkin had a huge interview about it and how it affected his play in Kessel's final year with the Pens. Sullivan is a good coach, but does not know how to adapt and continues to try and play the same way he did when they won B2B cups. Sullivan has hit his expiration date with the Penguins and will be gone if they don't make it to at least the Conference Finals let alone make it to the actual playoffs.

Well said about Sullivan. I think pens should go after Gallant this offseason

He’s played fine, I get the potential spark so I see no issue with the tendy change. I know I will sound like everyone else but look at Murray save percentage with Johnson on the ice and not on the ice. It’s 750 compared to 949 and that’s all 5v5 this series
