I’m not sure I’d want domi that bad. Klef is still getting his feet going after the long break he’s much better than we seen thus far in qualifier

Oh, that's right - Romanov is going to jump from 3rd pairing KHL this year to 1st pairing NHL next year and save the franchise.

Domi and a conditional 3rd (that could become a second) is fine. The condition doesn't matter to much. Giving Domi and a player who potentially could be as good as Klefbom is not worth it. I think a 3rd or second is way more fair

Romanov was not on the 3rd line in the KHL, or at least not due to his play. KHL has a tendency of stagnating the development of players that they think are going to bolt to the NHL. He was also on a powerhouse and won a championship as a teenager. I get we should limit our expectations, but downgrading him to a "3rd pairing" defender isn't being honest either.

Of all forwards who played at least 25 games, Domi is 3rd on the Canadiens in TOI/GP. So he's a 1st liner.

Yet he is playing 4th line in the playoffs. So maybe player usage doesn't always have something to do with that players abilities? Jack Johnson is in the league after all.
