Yep Kuzy would be the prize from Washington. We need a skilled 70ish point center and that's Kuzy. No more middle 6 guys or guys that should be on the wing but can play center if needed.

Why would Washington trade for a less talented center with little to no term? This is terrible for them. Kuzy value is a 1st , top pairing dman and a prospect/ roster player. Not RNH. Hard pass.

His numbers make him look like a bottom pairing guy, so I'm okay if you want to keep him.

I’m positive his numbers reflect top 4 easily since being in Washington. I mean his d partner is Carlson so maybe that inflated them but Carlson isn’t great defensively.

That's cool. We'd only need him as a stop gap in case our young guys aren't ready. So, a 2nd is steep for me, but I'd be good with a 3rd. If that's not enough, I'd exhaust all cheaper options first and then circle back if nothing panned out.

I think Kempny gets a late-2nd, or an early-3rd + a 5th or something like that. He's a net positive add to a lot of teams, but the Caps have an abundance of guys filling his role and high-level prospects that need the ice time. I think they'd move him for a little less.

Kuzy is a remarkably bad defensive player. RNH is arguably as talented offensively and not as bad defensively or in the dot. Edmonton would probably like to have the term built in and add more offensive flair. The Caps are going to need cap flexibility, too, with Ovi's contract expiring, Backstrom's extension kicking in, etc.

That's below market for him. Identical numbers to Bob, so coming it at lower term and AAV is a hometown discount.

RNH isnt in the Kuzy tier and hes now a winger.... i would ask for way way more than him for Kuzy. im not against trading Kuzy but im not taking a massive discount for him
