I'd do the trade, but I highly doubt Florida would...
Plus, if you trade away Monohan I feel Gaudreau is much more likely to leave via free agency.

I'd be torn on what Gaudreau would do. He might be leaving regardless, but giving him a Top 10C (potentially even Top 5C) could actually help him consider staying rather than Monahan who I like but doesn't add much without Gaudreau. In the other sense, building some sort of core around Barkov, Tkachuk, Lindholm, and Mangiapane long term up front could be wiser long-term.

Barkov, Point, Eichel, Barzal...they are all likely pipe dream additions for the Flames, but if Treliving can manage to get one of them this off season to add to the core it'd be a game changer.

Barkov - FLA is weird and cheap and Barkov only has two years left before he's a UFA and maybe he wants out and/or maybe they won't want to pay him..
Point - TBL have major cap issues this off season, and although there will be other options to clear space, never say never...
Eichel - Already had 33% of his career burnt off watching his team, pick in the top 8 and miss the playoffs...
Barzal - Another team with cap issues and Barzal is eligible to receive offer sheets...
