      BUF won't trade Cozens.
WPG is probably fair value-wise, but Ehlers has a much better contract than DeBrincat and they could probably get a different 2C for cheaper and not lose Ehlers in the process.
COL trade is a huge risk -- Graves has one year and Newhook is a prospect that hasn't touched NHL ice. DeBrincat and Strome has both shown that they can be top 6 NHL forwards. I wouldn't do that trade as CHI. If COL has confidence in Strome then I think they would do that trade since they'll probably lose Graves in the expansion draft anyway.

edit: said CHI when I meant COL in the last sentence. fixed it.

Pretty much a lateral move for Winnipeg that will end up costing the Jets more in contract dollars. So no thanks.

BUF won't trade Cozens. I'm curious if they'd trade the 2020 1st + Ukko + something though? That can solve some problems for the Hawks.

Thanks for your thought. Of all of these, I think I like the COL one the best. However it only makes sense if manament decides the current team isn't a contender

Thats not a bad offer but COL still declines. Debrincat and Strome are good but both have had up-and-down careers up to this point and only had great success while playing with star players. Debrincat has a 9M QO after his bridge deal and Strome is about to be overpaid this offseason. I guess you could say the same thing about Graves but he will be a lot cheaper and theres less risk there imo. I think its one of those situations where both teams value their own guys more since they have already performed in that teams environment - we dont know if Graves would be as good if he played on another team without Makar, and we dont know if Debrincat and Strome would produce as much as they have in the past if they played on a different team without Patrick Kane.

Im also very high on Newhook - I wouldnt trade him for any other drafted prospect in the league, so thats kind of a deal breaker for me

These deals aren't it. I'm not against trading them, but if we do I'd want a LHD and Top 6 W in return. I proposed Strome/Cat for Fiala/Brodin a little bit ago and I think that type of deal would be the best way to go. It won't happen either way, but if we do it should be for a package like that.

Debrincat and Strome have not together spent a lot of time with Kane.

Personally, don't have a lot of interest in Graves unless people think Graves can be a bonafide #1 Defender....I don't see it but haven't tracked him that much

What you didn't balance was the cap going back and forth. All non Chicago teams probably can't do the deals.

UPL is also not going anywhere. You might as well ask for Dahlin if you’re asking for these pipe dream deals.

Yes they have. Strome spends 61% of his ice time with Kane and 64.5% with Debrincat. Debrincat spends 53% of his ice time with Kane and 49% with Strome. Debrincat-Strome-Kane is literally CHI's most common forward line this season... https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_linecombo.php?select=TF&teamf=CHI&games=2019-2020%3AR%3A99&period=ALL&situation=ALL

I dont think he will be a #1D man - imo his ceiling is probably a #2 D man who can be his teams top shutdown defender, but most likely he will remain a #3-4 D man in a shutdown role

You missed my points, those 3 don't play together much anymore...they did at the beginning of the season but in early January, they stopped playing together. Look at the playoffs as well, they don't play together. Strome and Cat play together a lot. Now on the PP, Cat and Kane play a lot together

But even in the playoffs so far, Strome has spent 52.4% of his ice time with Kane and 23% with Debrincat. Debrincat has spent 41.6% of his ice time with Kane and 19.3% with Strome.

Ill take your word for it that they split up that line in Janurary - but since January Debincat has had 16 points in 29 regular season games and Strome has had 9 points in 21 regular season games. Those are both significantly reduced from their typically production when mostly playing together with Kane. That just proves how they need a star player on their line to produce well.

Yes, but all 3 do not play together...it's rare and in the playoffs pretty sure it hasn't happened. In the beginning of the season it was Cat Strome Shaw, then shaw got hurt and kane was put with them where that line rolled together until Strome was injured Jan7th. After he came back feb 1st, strome and cat were reunited with caggiula.

Both Cat and Strome, more Cat, didn't look good all year.

Anyone playing with Kane is going to be picked up stat wise, but that said, not even 1/2 the time....including last year, did Kane play on the same line with those 2 and yet last year they did great both with and without Kane.
