For the millionth time, none of us Wild fans want Domi for Brodin. I don't think Guerin does either considering Domi was likely available for trade at the deadline and we didn't pounce.

Habs will either buyout Alzner or send him to Laval.

The order of teams in the second through seventh rounds doesn't depend upon the playoffs like the first round, but goes strictly according to point totals. So Montreal's pick is #39.

Is that a new change for this year? Because usually the picks in rounds 2-7 are based on playoff finishes THEN regular season point totals.

No, rounds 2 through 7 are always strictly by point totals except, of course, the Stanley-Cup-winning team has the last pick in each round.

Sorry friend it looks to me like you are incorrect.

https://www.capfriendly.com/draft/2019

Take a look at last years draft, and any other recent drafts. The final 4 picks in each round are ordered by playoff finishes. playoff teams not in the conference of cup finals (first two rounds) are ordered by point totals.

I know for sure NSH didn't have the second best record in 2017.

I think that you're right, because San Jose wouldn't have drafted third from last in each round in 2019 (they finished in 6th place by points). So I guess that the first 27 places in each round are by point totals and the last four are the Conference and Cup finalists. I stan-d corrected!

Yep, cept in the very unique case of this years draft some of the higher points getters (PIT/EDM) should be drafting in the top 15 each round. Assuming they own their picks (lol they don't)

That Pittsburgh pick reverts to them. Can you imagine the howls of outrage if the Penguins win the first overall pick? Lafreniere is the reward for that embarrassing collapse?

I was speaking more in relation to their later round picks, PIT and EDM have both traded picks this year (more so edm)

I am just stoked that our late 2nd round pick is now going to be a mid second round pick. For free!

Also, we don't need to give 2020 ideas, so let's not think about the lottery to hard.
