Am I crazy or could Byfield have a higher ceiling than Lafreniere? I really think the Rangers could use another top end center too.. I went with the consensus here but I really wonder

I used a buyout on Staal to free up money. Used it to sign ADA and Strome to 3 and 2 year deals respectively.. at about 5 mil per. Both could easily ask for more and I think you'd give it to ADA... but trade Strome if he wants too much. He was too good last year to just trade him for no reason but you also can't be blinded to the fact that he got to reap the rewards of playing with Hart finalist Panarin..

As for the goalie situation.. I have a weird gut feeling that Hank may retire. It's not really based on anything though so I left him on this roster. Losing Georgie kinda sucks but I hate the idea of just buying out contract after contract and racking up dead money.. The Rangers already have over 11 mil (!) of dead money for next year.. I wouldnt even buy out staal but it seems impossible not to if you don't want to give up picks. I opted to keep the picks.. If Hank retires then obviously you can keep Georgie and maybe not buyout Staal.

Give Kravtsov and Miller a chance to make the team.. hope for more growth from the kids. Lastly, let Fast walk. I love him, but they can't afford him in this flat cap world.
