Jumbo should do what Williams did in CAR.

Retire, rest, sit out the first half of the season, wait and see if BOS is a contender, than sign to join them just before the playoffs (or as late into the season as possible)

That could definitely work but the difference between the two players is Williams has NHL tier footspeed. Jumbo is extremely slow and if he regresses another step back in that waiting period he could be entirely out of the league. What's keeping him in the league is his vision and passing ability.

I think the risk of injury (at his age) is greater than the risk of any further decrease in his foot speed.

True. His knee is a massive factor in how much longer he can play. I'm surprised nobody took him on at the deadline.

Yeah they would totally turn away a 35-45 point centre on a bargain contract for a *checks notes* prospect who isn't even a .ppg at the AHL level

Always a fun idea, but Jack Studnicka is already making the roster so it seems unlikely
Also that Krug deal needs work and the bruins wouldnt buyout John Moore, they would just trade him for a 7th

Not bad! But idk lol

It’s fine if you don’t know who he is, but you don’t have to take that attitude when you don’t know who a guy is. He’s better than Joe Thornton today. He was in the bruins top six in their last game. They would totally turn down joe Thornton for Studnicka, and it wouldn’t be a decision. It wouldn’t be a consideration. They wouldn’t have to have a meeting or a conversation about it. It’s an absolute no brainer.

From a pure value perspective, yes. From a redefining the organization perspective, it directly led to a cup.

Think he didnt get interest from teams he liked. Teams like toronto or new york may have been in, but he wanted a sure fire contender

Torey Krug is not getting $8M a year from the Bruins. Grzelcyk would get more a year. No to Jumbo don’t need him.
