The only reason Puljujarvi signed an extension with Karpat is so that he has a guaranteed place to play next season. European training camps and their season will begin before the NHL playoffs are over, and you cant participate in those things without a contract. I'm like 99.9% sure his new deal has an NHL out clause and that he'll be back in Edmonton once their playoffs are done. Holland is probably managing a few other things before he worries about contracts.

Nevermind that Kravtsov has like zero value against Puljujarvi. Liiga is a much stronger league than the VHL, and even Kravtsov's numbers in the AHL are pretty lackluster for a guy in his draft +2 season. If Kravtsov couldn't stick in the second best league in the world, why would Edmonton trade a guy they can plug in their middle six for a struggling prospect?

You're aware that Puljujarvi and his agent were recently talking with Holland, and some of the big quotes coming out of Puljujarvi's own mouth were how he's matured and sees that he didn't handle the process properly and that the direction the "new" Oilers are headed was impressive.

Just because Peter Chiarelli mismanaged a prospect and said prospect went to continue his development elsewhere does not mean he's a non-value asset. Holland's ask has always been a first round pick+ this season, and teams have come close to meet that price, but not close enough. There's obviously value in Puljujarvi whether or not you chose to believe it.
