If they were interest him probably the 3rd. I’m not a big fan of picking up players that have had a serious injury that definitely can linger or cause permanent issues. Would much rather use the space to acquire futures or top6/4 guys.

There’s definitely a difference between being on the ice and being back to the same performance. Knee issues can wreck a player’s career. Knee and back injuries are ones I’m not too particularly eager to take a swing on.

There is still a chance he makes it back in for the end of the cbj series. Has now done a few full practices. If leafs make it past cbj he should most definitely be in for the first round.

Wings decline. As stated above, Johnsson is a huge risk coming off knee surgery. Players coming off these types of injuries have shortened careers or deal with large declines as they age since the cartilage is now gone.

You do understand everyone recovers from injuries differently? Also, there is multiple different types of knee injuries and I don’t believe his has been released what was injuries hence everyone says “knee injuries”. I take if you’ve never had a knee injury or a close friend/family member.

PCL or posterior cruciate ligament injuries occur when you strike your knee against something hard like a dashboard/opponents pad or when someone falls on your bent knee. A tear in the PCL often damages other ligaments or cartilage in the knee, as well. The PCL can also break loose a piece of underlying bone. Recovery time for this type of surgery is 6.5 -13 months. Even if the procedure was done with an arthroscope it doesn't guarantee the player will ever recover to 100% of pre-injury levels. It's a huge risk especially only a few months out from the surgery.
