Rangers probably accept, Tampa might if they have no space and are committed to letting him go (could probably still get a better return for him via trade). Jackets and Islanders probably match

NYR Strome is no where near being the 1C we need (we don't have the offense to boost his stats)
NYI Barzal is our best option but i think you need to bump the OS ; 4 1st range
TB Cirelli is a great C, but i'm not sure it's the 1C we need. I might be wrong here

Reading what CJB want to give.. something similare than Aho (3y @ 5,5M)... they might think about it as they would need to clean some player to get under the cap.
Same for NYI... I can't beleive they WOULD let him go after Tavy... but they are in a worst position than Tampa in regards of the cap.

You would offer more than 10,5 to Barzy!

I'm not sure i would, but i think it's the price to pay if you want NYI to not match the OS. I read somewhere that Lou wasn't ready to match any offer over 10,5. don't know if it's true tho

PLD and Barzal are the future for their teams, removing each of them from their respective rosters seriously impairs their team's ability to compete in the future. Jackets' cap should be fine, Islanders will be tricky, but they too have options and in the unlikely scenario that an OS does come, they should do whatever they have to in order to match it.

The Islanders may have some overpaid, aging players, but the Lightning have overpaid, aging players with full NTCs lol

It’s not up to Lou , the owners make the final call on barzal and there’s no shot they let him go unless some team offers him 12+ mill

Yeah, I'm really anxious to see how the Isles will handle it. Going deep in the postseason would help with that anxiety though lol

Just my two cents worth, but I don't believe we need to OS a number one center, the development we have seen from Suzuki and the improvement we have seen from KK makes me think that they are our future 1C and 2C.... spending 10.5 + million on an OS will prevent us from signing our soon to be RFA's and UFA's.

4 first round picks for Barzal would be extremely risky.

I’m pretty confident I said tavares was gone after the trade deadline. Also the owners took over negotiations from Garth snow, which further proves my point. When it comes to a franchise player, they want to be involved. The difference is barzal has no rights, the islanders decide his future for at least the next 4 years.

Agreed. If you're giving up 4 x 1st, you better be damn sure that you've got the depth to be a contender.

I don't think the Habs plan was to wait another 2-3years to become a contendent... now is now for Webby & Pricy

After Dubois's defensive gaffe which led to the Leafs first goal, Coach Tortorella would have given Dubois to the Habs for 7th rounder.
