It's a bad idea for the Canes, something like cap suicide. They need to save cap. A year ago if the cap was still expected to jump 3-4 million sure, might be worth it. But now it's not worth it because of Svechnikov and Hamilton's new deals. Not to mention the goalies Dzingel and Geekie.

Staal is the quintessential player Rod B'A wants. Johansen is the antitheses of what RBA wants. Its a no from the Canes.

NSH says no. Bean is not exempt from the expansion draft so it just makes it way harder for NSH with 5 D they would want to protect. Also, Staal has a NMC which makes expansion even more difficult. Regardless of value, the deal makes no sense for NSH.

It was more of a cap move for Nashville. Move those extra years of Sissons and then Santini to balance out the current cap.

I wouldn't say Sissons underperformed in his 4th line role this year. His offence dipped compared to last season, but he wasn't given the linemates or minutes to put up great numbers. Moving Sissons is kind of the opposite of a cap move for NSH. Sissons was given a long contract with the intention of it being a great value on the back end. Unusual for a bottom 6 guy, but it worked for the Preds when they did the same with Jarnkrok.

He's not untouchable by any means, but not for one year of an offensive player coming off a down season. Fleury would probably be of interest to NSH.
