We all knew there would be a push. I still think they've played better 5v5. McDavid just went McDavid. This Drai penalty is a joke.

Not a good game all around. Can't be relying on a single line for the entire series.

I dont think anybody really stood out for us that game. How Quenneville got in the line up over Sikura, Hagel, or kurashev is mind boggling. Pretty sure he played less than 5 minutes that entire game.

Kubalik $5M for 2 years? GOOD LORD shakes head

Anyway, your boy Nylander was brutal, caused at least 1 goal against on a turn over

Yeah, Sikura or Hagel was a better choice; Kurashev no given he has zero NHL experience. According to the pregame lineup Sikura was in...that was after the afternoon practice....something must have happened.

Quenneville got 6:04 but at least 90 seconds was in the last 4 minutes of the game. Notice JC put out the dog house players Nylander and Strome in the end of the game while resting his best starters

Was a pretty ****ty pass and he had 3 oilers behind him. No player is perfect.

Also way to put a maginfying glass on Nylander, it's not like some other hawks rookie was especially brutal today and the cause of two goals by my count.

Cough cough Boqvist.

rolling eyes

Nylander got benched for a reason....just imagine 1 shot, 3 goals against while he was on the ice including his idiot turnover in our zone and not 1 takeway, shot, block or hit....i saw him give one hit actually but didn't credited for it on the score sheet. Nylander so far has played 2 periods of hockey in 2 games; the other 4 periods no idea where he is.

That line wasn't going tonight, Strome got benched as well, don't forget that crucial detail.

I am laughing at the fact that Colitons master plan was to double shift Kane the entire game, he is what makes Strome and Nylander go... using him on the Dach Debrincat line hurts our depth. Should have been Sikura in for Cags. Makes no sense.

I'm no fan of Strome...you should know that after a couple years on here.

Something happened with Sikura last minute I think, he was on the lineup sheet this afternoon....even the announcers mentioned it as a last minute change

I don’t know how you could possibly defend the John Q inclusion, guys an AHL level player and it shows. Should have been Hagel if you want a more Cag’s style player and Kurashev If you need a last minute Sikura replacement. John Q should be number 5 on the depth list, past the obvious guys as well as guys like Entwistle and Johnson.

No excuse

I won't defend that. I honestly believe Eddie O said the reason why in the 1st two minutes of the game... because hes from Edmonton. Very surprised Hagel didn't go in. Hagel is more physical and has a shot. We could have learned more about him vs a career AHLer.

I like Strome. He didn't stand out. I think Nylander showed effort. He was better in the 1st than 2nd or 3rd. I know the Cat got 2 assists, but I honestly thought he played the same exact game as the 1st one. He's all over the ice.

My criticism is going to Dach. Hes a good board battle, got 2 points, and wasn't overall that bad, but I'm a huge believer that those who choose to suffer the most will win. EDM stood in front of tons of shots. I saw a few times when Dach wasn't willing to beat his man to the boards (but could have in my mind) because it was a big boy like Nurse there. Why that stands out to me is because hes so good on the boards. Keep that puck in the zone and who knows what can happen. I know its easier to type this the morning after while I sip coffee AND yes he's 19, but the coaches really aught to point that out to him. if the Cat amd Yamamoto can scrap with everyone...Dach can too. Learning moment in my mind...AND why all these kids will be better from this gift the NHL gave them.

Defiantly not the nest game for the hawks but I'm not giving up hope on this series after 1 game. I was with them hyping them up when they won game 1 so I can't jump ship yet. Not anyone on here in specific but so many hawks fans in general were hyping up the team like they were gonna win the cup after game 1 and now are saying the team sucks and we should be taking for the chance at the top pick. Then again those are probably the same guys that just became fans during 2010-2015. Again not talking about you Stan I know you're just messing around here Just an in general observation I've made.

Moreover, that move made it impossible for the Strome/Nylander line to get anything positive done because Kane was essentially double shifting on that line.

So Strome and Nylander are totally dependent on Kane? Kane has been doubleshifted many times throughout his career, this is nothing new.

Yeah, it's not a stretch to say that Kane makes that line go. Don't get me wrong, Strome and Nylander didn't do us any favors last night, but double shifting Kane FOR THE ENTIRE GAME made the problem worse.
