Trading Marner wouldn't be bad it would actually be crazy.
You are proposing to trade Marner who is a Leaf franchise player and 90-100 point player at age 23 who plays 5x5, PP and PK and is a player and fan favorite who grew up idolizing the Leafs and is from Toronto and does nothing but good things for a lot of less fortunate people because the Leafs lose 1 playoff game when the opposition team plays a boring defensive/trap style to eliminate all offence out of the game and the Leafs actually play quite well and lose a 1 to zero game with an empty netter to make it 2 to zero.
You do realize that most of the elite hockey players in the NHL are adjusting to the time off during this covid period and have played really no hockey for 4 months and obviously they are all working out their rust in order to get back in elite shape. You do realize that all the other Leafs offensive players including Matthews, Tavares, Nylander, Hyman, Kapanan, Kerfoot, Rielly etc....... did not produce much offense in the loss to Columbus as well last night......... Just checking as you seem to be making Marner the team scapegoat.
No, the Leafs do not do your deal because it is just a crazy trade and no GM with a rational brain would trade a once in a lifetime player like Marner off their team.
