Rangers are not trading Kreider and that's why he has a NMC. If need be Fast won't be resigned or Smith / Staal will be bought out. Also a trade of Georgiev, Strome, or DeAngelo could take place, though I don't believe that will happen unless Gorton is offered a deal he can't refuse.

I've seen plenty of AGM's with trades involving Strome/DeAngelo/Howden/etc, but if Rangers get Lafreniere then I think they'd consider moving Kreider. He'd likely waive his NMC if he gets to go to a team like Colorado.

I'd go for Nichushkin instead of Jost to replace the grit you lost with Kreider

I don't see Kreider waving his NMC, but then again ( on a personal note) my nephew looks a lot like Kreider and moved to Colorado a couple of years ago. So who knows .

Det’s not paying to take smith off your hands, Georgiev is barely worth a second by himself (especially from a rebuilding team like Det)

The price to take smith is georgiev, you get no 2nd pick back here

I wasn't really sure what value to put in the trade, but figured that Georgiev is worth around 2 2nd's or 2nd + 3rd, so this trade effectively makes the Smith buyout cost a 2nd/3rd for the Rangers which seems reasonable.

Avs won't trade Nichuskin. He's been too good for us and will have a good caphit going forwards. Total defensive monster.
