Tatar was worth a 1st and prospect at the deadline this year, but he is no longer worth that. Ufa after one year so you might get just a 1st if lucky.

If he is a rental yes that makes sense but if he agrees to a trade and sign then he is worth a 1st + A prospect + 3rd easily

MTL retains 50% and even at the deadline as a rental a 50+ point winger would be a 1st with a prospect. Teams looking to win are still gonna spend those picks expected to be between 26-31 to have a better chance and Tatar at next years deadline could be the best player available
