I honestly would be very happy with this team.

I can’t see the leafs keeping the entire big four AND getting a good RHD. IMO Nylander will go because he has more value on his contract. I would be sad to lose Nylander, but I would love to add Pesce and Foegele.

Especially if Robertson can help replace some of the offense lost with a nylander trade

Don’t underestimate Kappy with a bit more opportunity and a 100% healthy Mikeyev

I can’t see a world where nylander isn’t a leaf. He’s proud to be a leaf and the organization loves him.

This idea of balance and big name defenders is garbage. Keeping the puck out of your bet is a 6 man job... not 2.

Personally I would much rather keep Dermott and nylander over Pesce.

This is fine, would rather have geekie and move kerfoot to LW, but at the same time Foegle would be an interesting addition.

In general sacrificing some offense to improve on the defense doesnt always hurt a team, especially with the forward depth we possess.

Take out Foegele and we’ll give you McGinn or Dzingel.

If leafs lose to Columbus and the defense looks exposed, Dubas won’t be afraid to make a massive move. Nylander is their best and more realistic piece to address that D

It would look good on Dubas if does something like this. Robertson and Mikhaeyev as cheap effective top 6 wingers, stabilizing the blue line and bringing in defensive minded bottom 6 players would complete this team

Totally agree. Defensive improvement comes from the forwards and defenceman that are already there. Adding one top-4 defenceman (and Pesce is not the absolutely lockdown stud people think he is) doesn't just fix the problem. Keeping Nylander's offence is absolutely worth it, I would hate to trade him.

Barrie and ceci will be gone next season. That might just be the change we need.

It’s been the spotty offence that was are real problem. The goaltending was exactly consistent either.

The idea that a big name rhd (who for some reason never won their team a cup) is the magical answer is foolish.

Nylanders play and possession may justly make a bigger impact.
