Description

Still leave us almost 21 mill to sign next years free agents. Gives us a lot more cost control for our bottom 6. Room for Rafferty or Rathbone to go down if they are not performing and still give us depth on D.

PLDGEY: OTT declines. Not enough compensation to dump 15M in cap. Ottawa does not have a problem with cap space. They want to pay out the least amount possible in salary to get the highest cap relief so they can hit the bottom necessary to qualify under the CBA. For Sutter and Loui the Sens would only pay 4 mil in salary and get 10.375 mil in cap relief and get a 1st round pick. A win win for both teams. What exactly do you think the Sens should get? Please explain.

Just because we dont have a problem, doesnt mean that we would take a subpar deal.

Ottawa is going to have no problem getting to the floor, and has no obligation to spend to the ceiling.

If Melnyk was willing to take this kind of deal, he could get a better rate from another team. Decline.
