I think any Manson trade has to have Liljegren in it

It's 2020. Manson isn't special anymore. Makes no sense to trade Holl (and other pieces) just to acquire the now middling Manson,

Not that I think Manson is some stud RHD that's worth a ton but this is a really underwhelming offer, the Ducks would quickly decline.

Also they and no team is retaining 50% on a fair value contract with term, it just doesn't happen, these Severson/Manson/other RHD traded to the Leafs with 50% retained really need to stop, they're extremely unrealistic.

Overpay for Manson and Kapanen could return more than that, imo. I'd do the Flames trade, but I doubt Calgary would. Jankowki's coming off a down year and will probably bounce back to at least some extent.

as much as the Leafs are VERY tight against the cap, I'm hesitant to describe it as "cap hell" (I am biased of course). Its not like they're loaded up with massive contracts to players who are no longer producing. They have overpaid for their young stars, Marner especially, Matthews a little, and I think Nylander is looking like a steal at this point, but those guys are still contributing to the team in big ways. Cap hell is being up against the cap paying for players that don't help your team. Loui Erikson type deals. Thats not the Leafs (yet). Not saying they're in a good cap situation, because they're clearly not.
