theres no way they do. I think the max they get is something like Ehlers + Samberg and a late 1st. But honestly being neutral, id rather one of Byfield/Stutzle over Ehlers plus Brannstrom over Samberg.

comparable to the Marleau deal where the leafs sent a first rounder top 10 protected to get rid of one year of Marleau. Its only one year, and the wings don't really need their cap space. Worth grabbing a free first rounder

On the surface it does but you're not gonna get a surefire Eichel calibre player back because teams that want him will be looking to contend. A third overall pick + good forward + good center prospect + good RD prospect would likely be a pretty unparalleled offer imo. IF he ever wanted out.
