I've watched Bear play and I'm not an Oilers fan. He's god fkn awful. They talk positively about him because why would you drag down your own player but he's truly terrible. It might be because he's new and maybe he can stop turning the puck over but saying the Oilers pass on this is laughable. Bear is worth more to EDM than any other team which is why you'd never see someone like Roslovic offered for Bear.

he's a top 4 dman and is 23, he'd be a top4 dman on most teams and he's still got a few years of development. A top 4 dman for a guy thats the same age and a bottom 6 guy doesn't make sense period. plus roslovic doesn't address the major needs of the oil. Also doesn't roslovic need a new contract this year?

True, Roslovic does need a new contract, but the Jets wouldn't consider moving him for a bottom pair D anyways. We have plenty of those.

Unfortunately not. I can see why an Edmonton fan would think he is top 4 though when you only have guys like Nurse to compare him to. Outside of Edmonton he's a 5/6 at best.

hes better than all the wpg dmen besides pionk and morrissey. demelo is maybe a top 4 d on a good day, kulikov is the kris russel of the team, poolman still needs to dev more and bealieau is a t6 d. the jets d is nowhere near where it once was and helly is the reason they did not have their stat lines are not as bad as they would be without him in net. hell I think bear is better than nurse as he skates better and manages the puck better.

You're entitled to believe he's as good as you believe him to be. However in reality he's a 5/6 at the same level as a Beaulieu and not worth wasting assets on as players like Bear are readily available as UFA's.

Bear is a project. I'm sure he could be good but you can't value him in what he might be if EDM are the only people that see that potential. Just keep him.
