Pretty sure you brought up history first bud and 1 cup 30+ years ago isnt much better than the classic 1967 chirp. Just saying its not a terrible offer and Flames will end up keeping Gaudreau if they want much more (unless Chiarelli gets hired by the yotes)
Actually "bud" it wasn't me you were going back and forth with, it was someone else so I didn't bring anything up first.
Plus, you were the first one to throw a jab by saying "enjoy losing in the play in" to which the other poster said "enjoy never getting past the 1st round" which was totally fair because the Leafs haven't been out of the 1st round in like 17 years or something, so you shouldn't be flapping your lips about how far the Flames might or might not go...but then you doubled down by saying the Flames have won one series since 2009 which is hilarious because A) it's wrong, the Flames won their 1st round series in 2015, and B) like I just pointed out the Leafs haven't won a series since 2004, so that's when I told you to stop tossing stones from inside your glass house.
So try to keep up to the conversation next time "bud"
..and yes, the Flames will keep Gaudreau before trading him for a bunch of middling quantity. Players like the Leafs are giving up here can be acquired in other ways pretty easily, trading an elite talent for them is fools folly. That's what Sutter did when he dealt Phaneuf for a bunch of Leafs middling talent 10 years ago. Treliving won't make the same blunder.
