Like others have said the leafs wouldn't even begin considering that trade. Robertson and his cheap entry level deal is going to provide huge value for the leafs with the flat cap for the foreseeable future. Petry is good but isn't exactly a defensive darling. If we really want him we would just wait a year and try and sign him in free agency.

I like Graves but i wouldn't trade away Domi for him even if he isn't having as good of a year as he did last year.

Graves is a top 4 Dman. He plays a very steady game and is not going to suddenly regress.

Due to contract and term... I wouldn’t trade Holl for Petry... let alone Robertson and a 2nd.

Toronto could use Petry, but they don’t have the money for him. This trade, while the value isn’t that off, wouldn’t help the Leafs in the long run. MTL shouldn’t do that COL trade whatsoever as well.

Leafs (or maybe no team) would want to extend 32 year old Petry at 6m X 3. Rather keep the dependable Holl at 2m and have 4m in cap space than Petry. And you want Robertson and and pick too? Really?

Contract aside, I find Domi for Graves pretty interesting (if signing Hall in UFA is totally out of the picture).
If COL had the ability to protect Graves, i think we hold onto him. But due to the fact that he will be exposed (aside from maybe offering Seattle to pick someone else), might as well move him for a piece we could use

Yeah I think it's an interesting idea that works for both teams. Graves staying depends on how comfortable Sakic is with asking Johnson to waive his NMC.

Domi could either fit on the 2nd line LW, or give us a great 3C. That versatility could be very useful.

Holy, not sure how the Avs could make it work, but imagine a second line of Landeskog, Kadri, Domi? Dripping with grit and could punish on the scoreboard at the blink of an eye

Domi prefers playing C - and that's where his 72 point season was, so I'm thinking more of this...

Burakovsky --- Mackinnon ---- Rantanen
Landeskog ------- Kadri --------- Nichuskin
Namestnikov --- Domi ---------- Donskoi
Calvert ---------- Bellemare ----- Compher
(O'Connor 13th forward + Kaut/Bowers 1st callups)

That's effectively like having two 2nd lines and a 3rd line as the 4th line. Would be very dominant.

I just made a couple of AGM's for these moves btw, for both 2020-21 and 2021-22. It would be a squeeze in 2021 but it's doable if Sakic is prudent with contracts. In 2021 Newhook replaces Donskoi (Seattle) and one of Domi/Newhook is the 3C.

Im commenting on your other GM as I see moving Compher in favour of Kaut makes more sense on the 4th line
