Definitely a downgrade don't get me wrong.. but an Eichel trade will not get you Zegras and or Gibson. Everything else is available imo. That said, I don't know why these ANA-BUF Eichel trades have become more and more common. I know buffalo fans have had to deal with just an overload of ridiculous trade offers so just ignore this if it annoys you or tell me how dumb I am. Its cool I get it. Honestly, I just hope he doesn't get traded but if he does I see teams like Calgary or LA being more suitable candidates.
That said, I think this is a solid offer. A #6 pick in the 2020 draft, a 2021 1st probably in the 7-21 range, a great upcoming goalie who just won goalie of the year in his respective league , a possible top 6 winger and 2/3 Center to go with Cozens in the future. Only dilemma is Lindholm who would be a top 4 D man for the Buffalo Sabres has only two years remaining on his contract. So that imo makes this trade practically null and void unless Sabres get desperate for no reason. Anyways, sorry to take your time. BUF/ANA aren't suitable trade partners in this case scenario.
