Even with Mitts I think that trade would be a mistake. We need a top 6 C if we trade Brodin and while Mitts may be one he's a massive question mark

I don't think Minnesota will make this deal. Guerin will probably try to trade Dumba or Brodin for the top 6 center

i dont think they can without an extension. Plus a 2c is worth more than a 2LD considering theres plenty of d options in free agency

I think this trade is tough for both teams. Brodin is a very good defenseman but unless it is a sign and trade he is only worth a big return to a contender. The Sabres are giving up Samudlsson whonprojects to be a similar player to Brodin in 2 - 3 years a 2nd and if they include Mitts likely at worst a 40 point middle six forward at best a 60 point 2C. It is just too much capital for a possible 1 year rental.for a team in Buffalos position. Value wise that trade is probably right though future 2nd, Samuelsson and Middlestadt

Well, as I understand it, he did not want to trade Brodin for Trocheck in the deadline. In some teams Brodin will have #1 LD, he is a very good defender, the only question is in his contract term, the extension of the contract will certainly increase his value.

we’d still have 1 of them
I don’t think Hjarmalsson is waiving to come here anyways

And even though Cirelli is a good 2way forward,
I don’t wanna dump an excessive defensive load on him like we did with O’Reilly
Especially if his wingers are Olofsson & Sam
We need all the offense we can get outta that line imo
So bring back Larsson as the “4C” to take on some of that defensive responsibility from Cirelli’s line

I’m assuming we aren’t gonna re-sign Johansson after this season bc we’d wanna allocate that Cap elsewhere (Brodin for example)
So play him on Jack’s wing to score the most points possible & trade him at the deadline to get as good of a return as we can
