Toronto has 2 goalies already, why would they trade for hutton?

also, no way in hell am i trading a 1st, and likely a high 1st, for kapanen.

also minnesota files a restraining order against you for that trade.

Why would they decline? They are getting a prospect and 2 picks for a goalie who has not really proven himself yet. Howden was just thrown in there. Hes a 4th line guy who is easily replaceable.

Easy decline, as @Sagecoll (rightly) pointed out it's not even close.

AG starts with McCabe and your 2020 2nd rounder.
Howden starts with your 2022 3rd and another asset

Howden is a 4th line guy who is easily replaceable hence why Ruotsalainen is going to NY. AG is worth 2 draft picks. He has played half of one season and is still unproven on his value. Fair trade for both teams IMO.

Ok, so I guess Ullmark has less value than AG because the latter's stats look better than the former's over the past few seasons.

Seriously, what will it take for you to realize that AG isn't «JuSt A bAcKuP». Dude's got starter numbers over the past few seasons and he's done that playing behind a Lindy Ruff coached dcore which was composed of Shattenkirk, ADA, Staal, Smith, Skjei and Pionk in 18-19 and Lindgren, Fox, Trouba, ADA, Smith and the constant overplaying of the pylon that is Marc Staal. Plus he's done that facing a sh*tload of shots every game.

Howden is actually a 3rd line winger who has a 15 ish goal ceiling.

lolol *faces 400 more shots than Binnington over the last 3 seasons* "wahhhhh he's unproven" hahah

at the moment, Howden has more value than Mittelstadt and Thompson and pretty much everyone else in the Sabres system.

Enjoy watching UPL in the ECHL haha.

Rangers easily decline.

anyone who's value starts as a mid round pick in 2 years probably isn't worth much of anything

Minnesota is basically getting Ristolainen for Brodin and Mittelstadt and a 2nd for Kunin. Not a bad trade for either teams

Rangers have Shesterkin as there future. AG is there backup but can be a starter on a different team. I don't think rangers would decline 2 picks for there backup goalie. Get a grip.

Again, you keep claiming he's «JuSt A bAcKuP» yet you still can't prove it.

Also, giving 60 games to Shesterkin as soon as next year is a no. You give 45 starts to him and 37 to AG

right. I don't think Georgiev to the Sabres works. His value to the Rangers is mid-late 1st and Buffalo doesn't have anything outside of their NHL roster they could offer that would equal that.

He blocks UPL anyway. Not a fit. He'd be a fit in EDM, DET, CGY and SJS tho. Not sure about what they'd be willing to give up for him tho

Not sure Georgiev works on rebuilding teams. Teams that are rebuilding don't want to pay futures for anything.

Hence why Lundqvist is more likely the one to be moved, He won't cost much of anything for teams and would be a substantial goaltending upgrade. This especially makes sense for playoff bubble teams like San Jose and Calgary.

One major problem. Risto's value is nowhere close to comparable to Brodin's. Risto has struggled the last couple of years and is bottlenecked by those younger than himself who are quickly passing him by and has done nothing to prevent it...

His ceiling is a #4 2nd pairing defenseman. Meanwhile, Dumba whom the Wild still currently have, also a RHS RD, is considered to be a better player even despite the horrendous season he just had. His ceiling is a full top 4. He can at least play on the top line.

Brodin, on the other had is one of the most underrated defensive defenseman in the league. What he does doesn't pop out on a stat sheet, but has to be seen to believe. His skating is by far the best on the Wild. It's not above average, it's elite. Great passing, phenomenal positioning, and oh yeah, he has a talent to make those he plays with better.

He's a top 3 defenseman. He's only stuck on the 2nd pairing because of Suter and Spurgeon. He's a top line guy.

So, in short, that is nowhere near enough. Keep in mind either Brodin or Dumba is getting moved for a top six center. They have that kind of value. The only way or reason I could see us trading for Ristolainen is if we moved Dumba prior to get us that center. At which point, we're not giving up Brodin.

However, I will say this. That's probably fair value for Kunin. Just keep in mind it's still going to take an overpayment due the fact he's one of only two RHS's on Minnesota's entire roster, still has plenty of upside, and has future captain material written all over him.

Just saying.

I'm going to build off of this. Dom Luszczyszyn of the Athletic calculated each player's GSVA from this season and our 3rd pairing D-man Brad Hunt had a better GSVA than Risto. 0.74 over 0.62. Rasmus can put up some points but he's a liability defensively. Which would be kind of a big deal on a team like ours where we don't get great goaltending.

brodin is MUCH better than ristolainen and minnesota is paying dumba and spurgeon 13.5 million a year on the right side already.

Risto is not in Brodin's league.
Kunin is like 1 of 5 right shots on the Wild and thus far a better player than Mittelstadt. I would say Kunin for Mittelstadt and a 2nd is close but it won't happen because of the lack of right shot forwards with the Wild.
