Tor vs Phi. The amount of playoff intensity games played with Columbus works in Toronto's favor as well as Freddy showing up, also with the boost coming from Robertson, Toronto wins in 7.
Wsh vs Pit. Huge tossup. I would say Pittsburgh in 6 or 7.
Nyi vs Bos. Definitely Boston. Nyi can't score. Boston in 5.
Nyr vs Tbl. Tampa all the way. Most likely no more than 6 games.

Cal vs Stl. St. Louis is too good to be taken by Calgary. 4-1
Edm vs Dal. Edmonton finds their early October magic and takes Dallas in 6
Van vs Veg. Vancouver barely loses this close match-up in 7.
Ari vs Col. Colorado sweeps Arizona because of lack of scoring.

I’m not going to predict the round robin, since that’s just a crapshoot, but here are my play in predictions:

PIT in 3
NYR in 5
NYI in 4
CBJ in 5
EDM in 3
ARI in 5
VAN in 4
WPG in 5

Explanation:
PIT & EDM are clearly the far superior teams, with 2 superstar forwards. CHI or MTL might win a game, but they can’t beat EDM/PIT.
The Rangers have 3 goalies that I trust more than Carolina’s goalies. And they’re missing Pesce & Hamilton. And the Rangers have Panarin and Zibanejad. This will be the most exciting series to watch, and I see the Rangers coming out on top.
I’m not sure about NYI vs FLA. I’m picking the Isles because I’ve learned to never bet on the Panthers. The Isles defensive system wins on this one.
CBJ vs TOR will be a close series. Maybe not exciting, because of the way the Jackets play, but it’ll be close. I went with the team with the better D and G to win the series.
ARI wins because they have the better goalie. Neither team scores much, so the goaltending will decide this series.
MIN may be underrated by some people. While the Wild can do some damage, I can’t see them beating a Canucks team as skilled as this one is. MIN won’t be able to overcome the difference in skill or goaltending.
WPG has the better goalie, and is built for playoff hockey. Meanwhile Gaudreau disappears come playoff time. The Jets’ defense isn’t good, but Hellebyuck and their forward depth can make up for it.

is there reseeding for the 1st round? With the way i did the round robin, that would be incorrect.

There’s re-seeding for every round (within the conference of course). @rangersandislesfan is correct, with the way you did the round robin that is right. The #1 seed PHI plays the lowest seed in NYR, etc.

I am now concerned that the habs might beat the Pens. It appears that the coaches aren’t taking the habs seriously and that’s never a good sign. (Either that or ZAR isn’t paying attention to the coaches, which is bad, but not as bad)

Thoughts on Philly game?
I think the pens did very bad until jarry was put in.

Nothing really stuck out to me about that game. I think that all 4 teams have shown their rust so far, but that’s to be expected.

As for the Leafs and habs game, it wasn’t a good showing for the Canadiens. Their attempted PP zone entries were atrocious, and Toronto’s agressive PK strategy was amazing at preventing the habs PP from setting up. Toronto looked really good though. Their puck movement was exceptional.

I think they played hockey and the Blackhawks won.

Honestly not too much stuck out yesterday. The hawks didn’t look half bad and the Canucks continue to be snake bitten against the Jets.

Although it’s crazy to think that we might have watched Henrik Lundqvist’s last game in a Rangers jersey yesterday.
