I dont understand what you did with Clifford. You traded stuff to Ottawa to get a player already on your team? If you did it to avoid giving LA the 2nd round pick, no way the NHL would allow it.

Where he was almost a ppg before becoming a staple in the Marlies (stacked) top-4. Sure he's not the flashiest prospect but most agree he has NHL potential.

That certainly gets you a year of David Savard. Even with the retention. They may want different pieces but the value is there.

Is your ECHL d man an example of how fantastic Dubas is at drafting in the later rounds?

Yes. My top-pairing AHL DMan is an example of how fantastic Dubas drafts in the later rounds.

Let me guess, a couple years ago you were saying that bracco was worth a top pairing d man with retention?

Actually no I never bought into the Bracco hype after watching him a few times in the O. I made a reddit post where I wanted to trade him for a 2nd last offseason before he inevitably comes back down to earth. Was downvoted and slammed by my fellow Leafs fans saying he will play with AM34 next year. Was eventually removed by the r/leafs mods.

I have more faith in Hollowell. He plays a good defensive game and doesn't make mistakes. Will be a solid 3rd pairing PKer if he keeps on developing. He was also originally named to the Leafs phase 3 roster so I don't think he's that far out.

Two second-rate boom-or-bust prospects and a future mid-round pick? That doesn't get you a year of David Savard's dirty socks, let alone the man himself. When we trade away valuable roster players, we like to get a thing called "actual NHL-level assets", not a pile of losing lottery tickets.
