Detroit are a far better partner for that Eriksson trade anyway, I'd imagine montreal would rather resign Gallagher and Petry, as they have their own contracts to re-sign coming up.

Habs would be better off making separate trades if they decide to move both Petry and Gally.

I dont thick it would quite cost that much to trade Eriksson but it would be close. Maybe take out Gadjovich and make the 1st a 3rd with 2 Mil retrained.

Gallagher will not get to FA he is the Heart and soul of the Habs he will be the next captain. IF Gally was to be enticed to leave it would take a much higher number as it is expected he will get 6-6.5 from the Habs so your going to be looking at 7+ minimum. Petry would only cost about 5-5.5 Mil on a 4 year deal, so you over paid him.

If you don't dump cap this offseason, and sign Markstrom and Toffoli to those deals, along with matching Virtanen's QO you'll be over the cap for the 20/21 season... The deals may work in the 21-22 offseason, but you'll have to make moves to get there first.

I traded for Gallagher and Petry in the prior Agm and if i want i can resign them to a extension. I any case you just arguing for absolutely nothing since everything have been done in a legal way

My apologies, I had not seen the previous AGM that explains how the cap works. I'm not necesserily convinced that the moves get made, but if they could be there would be cap compliance.
