The Demko part I understand. But the Rangers are set up to be relieved of their main contract issues after one more tough year. Staal, Smith, and Hank. Off the books to clear up about 18.5 million in a flat cap for the foreseeable future.
After next year, when we get that money, Buch, Chytil, Shesty, Lindgren, and Gauthier will need a new contract.
Rangers won't do this deal and they shouldn't.
Say Buch gets 5, Chtyil gets 3, Shesty gets 6 on long term, Lindgren and Gaut get 2. Theres your 18.
Is deploying Loui Eriksson for several more years really worth adding Demko and losing several key players? Theres just not a good enough reason for Rangers to take on his contract
