I don’t know anything at all about the buffalo sabres so I put together this awful AGM to show nothing at all I guess.

Let me know everything that’s wrong

I need to know two things about Montour:

1) Can he play in the top 4 effectively?
2) What is his next contract looking like on a bridge deal (2-3 years) or a long term deal (5-6 years)?

That's probably an overpay for Johnson, but I don't think he will waive for BUF anyway.

These moves are pretty helpful for us and don't really cost us any important pieces!

In what world is Tyler Johnson worth so much, also considering the cap situation at Tampa. Buffalo pass

I disagree. I think they'd consider moving Virtanen but the value would have to be significantly more than this.

1) Yes
2) 2-3 years: 4 mil
5-6 years: 5.5 mil

With that said, I'm not sure the Canucks are looking for an offensive right handed defenseman. They need someone to play with Hughes, so a more defensive oriented one would be ideal. If we didnt have Myers then Montour would be great.

Okay so what do I need to change on the Johnson trade? I thought it was pretty fair all things considered.

I think Johnson would waive if we was asked to. He would have a much bigger role on Buffalo

b-/c+ prospect + 3rd or a 2nd + 3rd is about as far as I would go for Johnson

I agree Virtanen is the perfect type of player that the Sabres should go after but why would Van trade him. The kid is on the 4th line and has 18 goals, his goal production has gone up in each of the last 3 years so it's looks like he is coming along nicely, he is controlled as a RFA and will get a raise as he has arbitration rights but if I'm Van I keep a kid that looks to be on the upswing.

Virtanen is going to want a raise between 2.5-3 million. By strapping him to roussel, the Canucks shed close to 6 million dollars from their forward group next season. All they need to do from there is find a way to get rid of Baertschi’s contract and they can sign Markstrom, Toffoli, and now Montour. That’s more valuable than keeping Virtanen
