Dunn vastly overpaid, Lundqvist isn't waiving his NMC for Minnesota. Once again Anaheim doesn't have the cap to fit Trouba nor would he play there so not happening.

Poor Hank... we could keep him and slowly turn him into a coach (if he wants of course)

I also don't think the Wild would like to have Lundquist

he'll have his number retired within 2 years regardless I don't think this really hurts our relationship with him. We traded Leetch and Messier and they're both working with our organization.

Agreed Lundqvist just isn't a match in Minnesota, Not sure if he gets moved or stays. If he waives would be curious where he goes. just know it wont be Minnesota.

What do you think about what Zuuuc said about us and Hank earlier this year?

Seems like a bit of a no-brainer for them. Hartman would cost Hajek alone, The Wild get to massively upgrade their goaltending without blocking Kahkonen long-term at the cost of 3 mil in cap space. Lundqvist gets to play on a contender (at least with him in net) with his best friend Zucc. The numbers are easy to understand. All the data we have shows that Minnesota would be a serious cup contender if not for their goaltending. Kaapo isn't quite ready to be a #1 next season. Stalock and Dybnyk both grade out as 2 of the worst goalies in the entire league.

I think it makes Minnesota one of the few possible destinations for Hank to waive his NMC. Hank wants to play for a contender, somewhere he'll get playing time (he'd be their #1 goalie easily) and somewhere he has friends. Wild check all of those boxes. Gorton is well known to be super cold when it comes to players and negotiations, it's business. Some can handle it. Some can't. Zucc got paid though, he'll be fine.

getting younger, cheaper, having more team control, moving assets from a point of strength to a need, all of the above? Lias just put up a point/gm pace in the SHL and he's younger than Benson. Just needs an opportunity to play legit mins that New York hasn't given him. Also naturally opens up a spot for Bouchard. Pick upgrade doesn't hurt either.

IMO Benning has more value than Andersson and a late round pick swap is nowhere near the difference.

But it's interesting that you should compare Andersson to Benson (who also has less value than Benning). Both played in the AHL as 20 and 21-year-olds, so there is some basis to compare:

At 20
TB: 68, 15-51-66 +21 (0.97 P/GP)
LA: 36, 6-14-20 -24 (0.56 P/GP)

At 21
TB: 47, 9-27-36 -10 (0.77 P/GP)
LA: 13, 4-1-5 -9 (0.38 P/GP)

Overall career boxcars in the AHL
TB: 120, 24-81-105 +10 (0.88 P/GP)
LA: 74, 15-24-39 -33 (0.53 P/GP)

Other than being a center, I don't think there's much basis for thinking Andersson is a better prospect than Tyler Benson. Fifteen games in the SHL (at 0.80 P/GP) isn't enough to erase the years of mediocre play on the part of the NYR prospect. It's a glimmer of hope, nothing more.

oh nice you like statistics

I compared age*...

But again it's pretty tough to compare someone like Benson vs. Lias. Lias had a foot injury for most of this year. and Hartford last year was the worst AHL team in the league (they cleaned out their entire staff after last year) while Bakersfield ran away with the division last year.

Looking at the NHLe numbers and the primary points to try and isolate individual contributions from team quality: (NHL translations for reference: https://twitter.com/mannyelk/status/1014216462695878658 )

DY + 1: Benson (WHL) 1.09 P1/GP = 0.17 NHLe P1/GP
DY + 1: Andersson (SHL) 0.50 P1/GP = 0.32 NHLe P1/GP
DY + 1: Andersson (AHL) 0.28 P1/GP = 0.12 NHLe P1/GP

D + 2: Benson (WHL) 0.95 P1/GP = 0.15 NHLe P1/GP
D + 2: Andersson (AHL) 0.39 P1/GP = 0.17 NHLe P1/GP
D + 2: Andersson (NHL) 0.10 P1/GP = 0.10 NHLe P1/GP

D + 3: Benson (AHL) 0.71 P1/GP = 0.30 NHLe P1/GP
D + 3: Andersson (AHL) 0.38 P1/GP = 0.16 NHLe P1/GP
D + 3: Andersson (SHL) 0.60 P1/GP = 0.38 NHLe P1/GP

D+ 4: Benson (AHL) .55 P1/GP = 0.23 NHLe P1/GP

The trade wasn't Lias for Benson so I'm not sure why you're forcing the comparison, when the entire point was just to show age. But Lias is a defensive C, Benson is a pass heavy winger. The fact that their point production when you control for context is close doesn't really make Benson look far superior at all...
