Kings can't afford to trade MacDermid. They need him under contract to satisfy the expansion draft exposure requirements (40+ gp in 2020-21 or 70+gp in 2019-20 and 2020-21 combined).
I wouldn't trade a 3rd for Leddy, let alone throw in Wagner and MacDermid.
Additionally, if the Kings trade for Leddy, they're not going to sign Edmundson.
If the Kings do draft Stutzle, he won't be in the lineup next season. The DEL will start prior to the draft in October, meaning Stutzle will be under contract and ineligible to sign an ELC until it expires next summer.
- The thing about MacDermid is idk about the guy, rn he's kind of just a mediocre 3rd pair guy, nothing to special. But for your expansion draft concerns, bringing in Leddy, and Edmundson would cover the issue of needing to expose a guy like MacDermid.
- Thanks for your response, yeah I thought that MacDermid & Wagner was enough, but I was gauging Leddy's value, I thought LA would add because honestly haven't watched LEddy much this yearend even though his offensive numbers aren't wear they use to be his defence has apparently been good under Trotz.
- My thing with giving Wagner to NYI is that there are going to be a lot of players of his caliber (bottom 6 energy) competing for spots (Lizotte, Frk, Amadio & Moore). I just think we should get something in return cuz with the move to bring in talent for the forwards via FA/prospects, and one of those bottom 6 players would have to clear waivers which I don't trust they will.
- I really think Edmundson can be a great piece to bring in. Think of the idea of Scuderi, Mitchell & Greene on those Kings teams from 2012 & 2014. I think as a defensive defensemen at age 27 he can be a nice piece to bring into a rebuilding club on the rise. He has Stanley Cup pedigree, is a solid #4/#5 on a team, and can bring stability and leadership in LA to help with the development of our defensive prospects. I also believe of the best prospect d-men LA has (Anderson, Bjornfot, Clague, & Durzi) that Anderson is the most ready to be in that lineup. I think Bjornfot should continue to develop in the AHL for a little more time, Clague seems like a weak 3rd pair option at this point he needs to earn his spot with better play in the AHL, and Durzi is still a bit raw.
- Did not know that about Stutzle thank you for saying that. Then ill need to make an edit of this roster.
