It's a terrible deal for the Lightning if all they are after is moving big (or potentially big) salary out of the door. Neither Terry nor Steel has proven much of anything at the NHL level, and although the Lighting seem to get the best out of all their prospects, it's never a guarantee. The 1st is always nice, but the biggest letdown might be the term of Manson's deal. Cernak and Cirelli come with lots of control potential. I imagine that if the Lightning decided to package these 2 RFAs up, they'd be looking right in the direction of the Arizona Coyotes.

How do you figure? If it were Manson for Cernak straight up, Tampa would be adding. So all the sudden Cirelli is worth Steel, Terry, and a 2020 1st?

The trade does not make sense anyway.

The way I see it Cernak>Manson (they’re values are prob about the same tho)

And yeah Cirelli is worth a very late first, and two prospects/ young players who have high upside but haven’t put it all together at the NHL level quite yet. Cirelli was playing first line minutes and was a legit selke candidate at 22 years old.

(Everyone here is sleeping on Terry, he was actually a solid middle 6 guy last year, but I'd do this in a heartbeat as ANA, I'd even be willing to retain 50% on Manson)

AZ can’t afford anyone. They have 1.5M in cap space with only 17 players signed for next season.

I see everyone over value people so I made sure to over pay. If the ducks kept Terry it’s even better.

Terry and Steel have played basically the same amount of games with the same amount of points and had similar corsi% and PDOs this season.

But I agree I’d do this because 21-22 the ducks could add quite a few more quality pieces with all the cap space they’ll have.

With the flat cap, there will be so many teams that will have to move cap space and fix issues. A fair hockey deal, in my opinion would be Cernak and Cirelli for Dvorak and Chychrun. Both teams will likely still need to make additional moves to relieve cap space, but to me, that seems like a reasonably fair deal.

This is a great deal for Anaheim and, like @Dan10900 , I would do it in a heartbeat. I think it's fair value for Tampa but I don't think it helps them enough to persuade them.

Our three players would add roughly $6 million to the Lightning's current cap hit for 2020-2021 (depending upon what Terry gets), meaning that they would have 18 players under contract for next season aggregating $82.25 million, with Sergachev and four spear carriers still to sign. Let's say the depth players add up to about $3.75 million, for a semi-total of $86 million. Add Sergachev and Tampa is still going to have to get rid of two of Gourde, Johnson, Killorn and Palat, which is the same situation that they're in now. In short, I don't see this as an improvement for the Lightning.

Or just offer sheet him for a 1st and 3rd compensation. Trade Steel and Manson (if you want to) and recoup some lost picks.
