Jokiharju is only 20 and would be Toronto’s 2nd best RHD. You could make an argument that he would be Toronto’s best RHd. Kapanen was on a 45 point pace this year..

hes not that bad but hes more of a Justin Faulk kind of guy. he has never been good but his poor play has always been blamed on poor coaching and bad teams. trading for a 26 year old defenseman who has no track record of being good much less being a top 4 defenseman for a 23 year old middle 6 winger is terrible. the only thing montour has going for him is his transition play and this year it was bad. ceci had better zone entry numbers, was worse at exiting the zone but better at denying zone entries.

honestly instead of kapenan for a defenseman my idea is to move Johnsson to San Jose for a 3rd and 5th and use the 3rd and Kapenan to get NJ vancouver 1st. NJ gets a solid potential top 6 wing and good pick depth and in return toronto can get a 1st between 15-31 and draft Braden Schneider.

Like Marino for the penguins, Schneider can start with the marlies and one day come up to be the top 4 rhd we need.

Montour is worth a 2nd tops. Not only did he have a very poor season his QO is too high for what he is (like Ceci).
