I would say no, he really struggled this season and is very injury prone. You love the person and the intangibles, but he's a player on the decline IMO

They won't trade Monahan unless it's really worth their while, they don't have anyone that can really fill the void it would create. WPG would have to make a substantial offer to get him. If a top 6 C like Monahan, that you can pencil in for 25 goals a year becomes available, he will be a hot commodity.

Could he handle 2nd pair minutes?

It depends on the partner. He is someone that plays his best under structure. His first year as a Flame he played with Brodie and it was a mess. I actually think Morrissey is a perfect partner for Hamonic, I just don’t trust him to play 20+ a night, and given his style of play injuries are inevitable

Why on earth would Calgary blow it up

If Calgary gets blow out by Winnipeg, it's three years in a row that they did nothing and need to retool

So they lose to Winnipeg 3 years in a row and they trade them 2 of their best players to make them stronger.
