Description
Lets do one more that people might understand.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This most likely doesnt happen. Carlo is likely untouchable and the bruins could probably get Boeser for other stuff, but i just wanna make people happy so im here to please lol

This is the key: Carlo and Boeser are about equal if they were the same position:
Currently Top 6 (Top 4 dman), have potential to be Elite but most likely do have a high top 6 (top 4) cap." so a 1 for 1 is perfectly accurate given no extra stuff. Both drafted in 2015, both are the same age. Both played about the same amount of time (Three full seasons_, but Carlo actually cracked the roster earlier (not that that means much)

Point is: Im not saying Carlo is worth more, but NOBODY should try to argue Boeser is worth more because thats just wrong.

With that in mind:

Didn't you guys just trade a 1st for Kase? You should give him more than a couple of games before you give up Carlo to replace him

detroit accepts probably. Dekeyser is always hurt. The only other LD on the team is Nemeth and he's probably gone after next year.
They have a few young guys but none of them have panned out. Given the injuries, they could use a guy in there. Not sure if they want Moore though given his own injury issues.
It wouldn't surprise me to see them pick up 2 LD this year.

Well it was also ridding Backes so Kase wasn’t worth a first by himself.

I like carlo. Hes a good tough stay at home dman , nothing flashy but hes gonna be a top shut down guy for years. He covers krugs ass so good people think hes worth 8 million bucks. Ita fair value I think. Idk if Boston would do it. Carlos never gonna cost to much since there is little offense there.

Precisely. In saying that: as i said in my other post: if they get Boeser, they wont wanna keep Kase because they already will have a 2RW and a 3RW (in coyle / stud). So keeping him will just be an unnessesary use of cap space.
What I said was that he would be part of the Boeser trade, but canucks fans didnt like that so i tried doing something to make them happy

Right on man. Yeah like i said, bruins probably dont do it. but IF they HAD TO give up carlo in the trade, this is what it would be

No the point is the DO take it.

The alternative is a bunch of pieces (like my last one) that they "dont really want" according to canucks fans
This trade was literally made so it was perfect for the canucks

The question is still whether the bruins accept or not

Good points, and my b i did forget to say "any team"
Again, they are giving up a 7th for a 3LHD with a decent contract (despite what anti-bruins fans wanna say without realizing that its hard to et ice time playiing behind Chara, Krug, Griz, and Lauzon now)

With the eventual loss of Krejci/Bergeron, I see the Bruins becoming a low scoring defensive team for a a bit (unless they grab a UFA center or trade f0r one). Just couldn’t part with a young top-4 dman like Carlo. But the trade itself would work for Vancouver.

Yea that's what I expected. I've heard that McAvoy (obviously) and Carlo are both off limits. If that's true, then there isn't much incentive to deal with the Bruins from the Canucks perspective.

Fair enough, again thats the case with probably 90% of trades is that one team has to give up someone they probably didnt really want to or get something back that wasnt exactly what they wanted. In saying that, because its the canucks that want to / need to move him for cap purposes, its seems like a possibility that they could make the trade for pieces (and not just junk) that arent Carlo (like a first, zboril who can still develop into a solid player, Kuhlman who is already a middle 6 forward and has top 6 upside, and Kase who is a solid top 6 guy if healthy)

I understand that, but I think the cap space narrative is a bit overblown. Cap space would help (just like it would help most teams), but the Canucks can still manage without trading someone like Boeser. They can move 1-2 of Sutter, Baertschi, Roussel or Beagle with some assets and be fine. I think the reason Boeser's name has been brought up is because the Canucks have an organizational weakness at RD and no RD prospects coming up, and our best RHD is a UFA (Tanev) and we're not sure if we could/should bring him back. Boeser would be dangled to fill that gap more so than address the cap concerns.

Fair enough boss! I appreciate a kind and well thought out response. Something that too many people on this website fail to do.
Then maybe the bruins (who are in more of a "win now" mode) arent the trade partner because of the demands of the canucks. But perhaps they can make a trade for the right pieces (Griz maybe?)
