Roll the dice a bit with some project players

Description
Puljujarvi isn't playing another game in an Oilers uniform. In exchange you get a speedy 20g/45pt winger to play anywhere in the top 9 as needed.

Mittelstadt was quite the disappointment, and you've gotta build a better team around eichel quickly. Kerfoot, much like Johnsson, can play as a first line winger, or all the way down to the 3rd line, only even better as he can play C.

Martin get league min, but about double the contract length he could ever hope for. Leafs pay him his money up front, and suit him up against some of the tougher teams like BOS, VGK, etc. and also to give guys like Thornton and Spezza a night off

I mean you've gotta get Eichel some help, and the leafs need to take some chances on project players and KHL guys and so on to maintain a highly competitive team under the cap. I see it as a win win

I agree but I literally ran out of PP time to give them. It was between them and Puljujarvi for the last spot but I gave it to Pulju because you'd have to promise that he'd see PP time for him to come back. And its tough to take it away from any of Kappy, Bonino, or Hyman who clearly deserve to be there

I get why TO would do the Preds trade , I don't see any reason why the Preds do though, doesn't really matter though put Mitts between Mikheyev and Kapenen keep the picks and Engvall

I think 3C is one of the most overlooked positions in the game by a lot of fans and I really believe that you need a reliable one. Mitts, while he does have the potential to be much more than a 3C, also has given nobody much confidence that he can be relied upon in that role, so to be sure, I got Bonino. As well, Mitts has had a rough go at center in the NHL, so I'd try to settle him in at the wing before considering moving him back over.

If you need to give a bit more to the preds, sure, but basically if they aren't looking like a playoff team and/or it looks like Bonino is gonna walk, then they'd deal him, and a young NHL ready 3rd line winger on a reasonable contract + a 2nd + a C/D level prospect + a 4th isn't a bad return for him. Not a great return though, so if they get more offers, I'd up it if needed

This is one of the few situations where I'd trade Kerfoot.

If the Preds keep Bonino and sell him at the TDL they'd do much better than this return

and I'll give it. If it needs a 3rd rounder with a condition for it to be a 2nd, I'd still probably do it

Uh signing Matt Martin for 4 years is insane. But the rest of the team is balanced
