Description
After this year Oilers will have some money freed up and sign Bear to a 8 year 4 million contract.
Brodin to replace Chara in a couple years. Poolparty is going for pizza to Boston, even though there are no Boston Pizzas there. Trick and a very good 3 RD and Boston can sign the rest of their guys.
Debrusk wants to be at home around his dad.
I was going to add a first for Debrusk as well, but I think 2 first round picks and a 3 RD are enough, correct me if i am wrong and i will change it.

As a B’s fan, I find the DeBrusk deal interesting. A lot of depends on Puljujarvi’s willingness to come back, contractual status, etc. I personally am not huge on Broberg, and unloading DeBrusk would give them more room to sign Krug so LHD isn’t really a need considering the depth they have there. But I don’t think a DeBrusk deal is off the table, and I think EDM makes sense as a partner if it comes to that. BOS may want a roster player coming back due to their aging core, but it’s a thought provoking deal!

Benning is not really someone interesting either. The value is so hard to judge b/c Puljujärvi is so up in the air. He doesn’t seem like a player bruins management would risk DeBrusk for, but if a contract can’t get done, who knows what can happen I guess

I was just worried about sending them a roster player as it will eat up their cap space, Poolparty would cost a million only and Broberg shores up your left side in 2 years, he had a hell of a season this year and played top line minutes against men. But I dont know your prospects on LD and where they were at, looks like most of your top end prospects are forwards.

Totally. I mean they’re in a tough spot, The flat cap puts them in a weird position. i just think with 37, 46, 40, and 33 on their way out they’re gonna try to squeeze out as much as they can. Left side D has some depth to it on our end, but I haven’t paid a lot of attention to Broberg since his draft year, so that’s good to hear. Most likely, they’ll find a way to get DeBrusk done, but if it gets to that point EDM makes a lot of sense and I don’t think you were that off on value!

Its not an awful package, but the Bruins have a lot of defensive prospects. They'd probably want Yamamoto coming back as a skilled, cost effective forward

On another note, I think Debrusk would be unreal next to McDavid

Bruins wouldn't have anybody to replace DeBrusk on LW. Always liked Puljujarvi and I think he'll be a good NHLer (one day) but not sure of his value/what would be his cap hit now and we have several options on the RW.
Benning didn't sign in Boston in 2016 (doesn't really matter now) and we have enough depth on D. Broberg is a great prospect but we want to win now so DeBrusk will help us more.

Yamamoto looks great beside Draisaitl swapping to DeBrusk would be a loss for the Oilers because of the ELC value. Far more likely would be like AA+ for DeBrusk

Interesting deal for Debrusk - I’d make the trade is Boston would.

By signing AA and Söderberg to a combined 6M, though, you’ve made it difficult for the Oilers to re-sign core players line Nudge, ear, Yamamoto, and Nurse in the next couple of years.

Fortunately, cap space isnt a big issue. As long as debrusk, griz, krug, chara, AND bjork arent looking to be OVERpayed, the bruins can fit them all under the cap.

Overall, i think the value is pretty damn good. But the bruins do decline for the following reasons:

But Benning didnt want to be on the bruins, and the bruins dont want him now
Broberg is just another LHD (we already have TOO MANY which is why zboril is getting no love
and Jesse might not even want to come back

Again, value wise its good
But Bruins Reject because it logically makes no sense

Good thought and effort though!!

Sure, if everybody signs at reasonable value then they should be able to get it under. If that happens though, there’s not a ton of wiggle room, but I hear what you’re saying. I think @Copenhagen was referring to, if they send us back a roster player that’s not on entry level deal It may tighten the grip on the cap. Like I said, most likely the B’s find a way to bring everyone back.

Well, no he was refering to NEEDING to make the trade BECAUSE they might need to fit under the cap. Point is, bruins DONT need to, or want to

Jeez dude relax, i said if the b’s end up trading DeBrusk for whatever reason that they would probably want a roster player back, he said “ I was just worried about sending them a roster player as it will eat up their cap space” which is not a crazy statement. I agreed with you that the B’s most likely find a way to get everyone under the cap. No one said the Bruins needed to make the trade, all i said is that if they fit everybody it’s gonna be tight which it will be.

I think the Islanders would definitely be interested in Chiasson. Expiring contract, keeps Wahlstrom in the AHL for one more year, can score some goals with talent, Trotz is familiar with him. We can only take him if the Oilers take on similar salary (Hickey), or the Isles make other moves to be able to afford him.

Yes I thought he would sure help your close to the bottom ranked PP. He would be a perfect fit.

Would you do Hickey, Ho-Sang, and a 4th for Chiasson?
