I know the automatic reaction will be that leafs aren't really giving up enough quality NHL players for this deal, but I mean everyone kinda gets what they want in a way. STL gets a great young forward and cap relief to make more room for Pietrangelo, VAN gets an NHL ready ELC RHD, who could one day pair with Hughes, a good young winger to take bowser's spot, and futures that they could either use themselves or pawn off to make their current roster even stronger, and TOR gets their no. 1 RHD

The whole point is that VAN needs cap space to sign tofolli. this deal has them taking on more cap

It makes sense value-wise, but STL isn't trading defense for offense

VAN does not get cap relief which is the whole point in trading Boesser

kapanen can be pawned off afterwards if needed.

they get a great young forward for 2.5M, saves a decent chunk of money to sign petro, and they still have a great RHD core in Petro-Faulk-Bortuzzo and a great LHD side in Dunn-Scandella-Perenovich

VAN is not moving Boeser this is just fake rumor just to stir things up in the Vancouver market.

Also in general, its quality>quantity. Toronto is giving up a solid package, but I'd think VAN would want something a little higher quality and STL needs more than Boeser for a top RHD.

50% retention on Boeser is very unrealistic, it's like these Severson to Toronto trades on here with NJ retaining 50%, it's never happening.

It's not that you aren't offering plenty of value for Parayko, but with Pietrangelo possibly walking and Parayko probably being better long term if Pietrangelo is brought back and with the Blues in a win now window, I can't see why the Blues would be open to moving Parayko right now

With Josi's extension kicking in and a number of guys to replace, I'm not sure the Preds can afford to add dead cap like that. Depends a lot on how things fall out.
