Not giving up an early first for Killorn. A lot of Tampa and San Jose fans have agreed Colorado's 2nd is a fair price for him. Other trades have also included True with Colorado's 2020 2nd for Killorn which I'm totally fine with.

Vilardi + 2nd should be enough for Sergachev. Drop the 3rd. I don't necessarily think the Kings would do it, as they need Vilardi in the lineup now, but that would be an equal value trade.

Sergachev has barely broke the 40 point mark. I think there is a huge chance Vilardi gets 50/60+ points next year. Vilardi got 7 points in 10 games. It might look like fair value right now, but come next season it will be a huge steal for Tampa, dumb trade.

Let's get real? Why don't you evaluate your trades a little better.

Hence why I said that the Kings wouldn't necessarily go for it.

However, Sergachev has 3 full seasons under his belt in the league and has been fantastic for all 3 seasons. Vilardi has 10 games of NHL experience and an extended injury history.

You have to give up something good to get something good. If the Kings wanted Sergachev, then Vilardi + a 2nd is right about what it would cost them.

I wouldn't do it, and given the state of the Kings roster, I don't think they should/would do it this off-season either. It wouldn't be a bad trade though.

Maxime Comtois had 7 pts in his first 10 games, it doesn't mean much

There are other ways to acquire Sergachev then Vilardi. They have Stamkos, Point, Cirelli, and ABB. The last thing they need is another top 6 center.

They're going to want something back of comparable value. This isn't fantasy hockey where you can package up a bunch of lesser prospects and get an exceptional player in return. Quantity for quality isn't going to get it done.

The only way that I can see Tampa trading Sergachev to LA without the Kings giving up a 1st is if one of Vilardi, Turcotte, or Kaliyev is going back.

No ****. Except you forget the fact that Tampa already has to trade one or two of Johnson, Killorn, Palat, and Gourde. They will need middle 6 wingers and likely a RD hence why Grundstrom, Walker, Kupari, and maybe 2 seconds would be a good return.

Much like the draft, where you take the best player available rather than draft for position, you shouldn't trade high quality players for less valuable ones. You'd be leaving value on the table. You wouldn't take four 2nd round picks for the #2 overall. This is the same idea.

If Tampa really wants middle-six wingers and a RD, then they get the 1st or the A prospect, then flip that piece for the target of their choice. The clock is running on Sergachev since he is due a new contract that Tampa can't afford on November 1, but they don't have that problem with a 1st round pick or an A prospect. They can afford to wait for the right piece to come along.

Someone will pay top dollar for Sergachev. If the Kings want it to be them, they're going to have to part with a 1st or an A prospect.

If that truly is the case, I heard the Kings are planning to flip two 2nds for a 1st, they can trade that for Sergachev.

If they are able to trade up into the first round, then that's absolutely an idea worth exploring. A 2020 1st + Kupari would be a quality offer.
